The IKRC Grand Canyon is a place of peace and refuge located in the middle of Kaibab National Forest. The IKRC Grand Canyon is the official international retreat center for North America.

We invite you to come for a tour of our temple, enjoy meditation, a class, our cafe and gift shop, and explore what we have to offer whether you are driving by, living in the area, or would like to book accommodations for an extended stay.

We offer weekly classes, weekend courses, and retreats. In addition, we facilitate longer retreats including the six-week guided Mountain Retreat in the winter, and the two-week Joyful Land Retreat in the summer every year.

IKRC Grand Canyon also offers standard and superior room accommodations and home-cooked vegetarian meals. The staff is mostly volunteers committed to providing service to the public to exemplify their Buddhist faith. Refresh your mind, experience a relaxing and meaningful spiritual break, and find authentic peace from within.

Everyone is welcome!

Weekly Classes

Learn to meditate and discover the philosophy of Buddhism in order to help you solve daily problems, and achieve inner peace. Our most popular class is on Sunday morning and most often taught by our Resident Teacher Gen-la Kelsang Jampa.

Courses & Events

On weekends we hold courses and retreats, usually on Saturday mornings but sometimes extending throughout the entire weekend. Since we are an international retreat center, we periodically host special events where Kadampa teachers and students arive from all over the world.

Check our calendar for open hours and a time schedule for our cafe and bookstore as well as a complete schedule of our classes, courses, retreats, special events and chanted prayers.
